Scaffold Builder

About the role

This position requires proficiency in mechanical skills and working knowledge of tube lock scaffold / pin lock (systems) scaffold, along with familiarity with industrial machinery and equipment maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and walk downs, communicating items of concern effectively
• Operate and maintain industrial machinery and equipment
• Use industrial hand tools and power tools as required
• Adhere to safety practices for equipment operation
• Work collaboratively with co-workers and supervisors

Requirements

• Proficient mechanical skills
• Working knowledge of tube lock scaffold / pin lock (systems) scaffold
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Good reading comprehension
• Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
• Commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations
• Reliable transportation
• Experience using industrial hand tools and power tools

• 4-5 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Vocational school training or related on-the-job experience

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting
• Ability to talk and hear to communicate
• Use of arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls, and tools
• Ability to give full attention to directions and understand them
• Occasional lifting, carrying, and moving objects safely
• Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work off platforms
• Vision abilities including focus, short and long distances, color recognition, depth perception, and peripheral vision
• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots

Work environment

• Work in all weather conditions (warm/hot to cool/cold), including occasional rain
• Work at different elevations
• Moderate to high noise levels
• Presence of light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools
