Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and implement PLC control programs based on process narratives, operational requirements, and equipment specifications
- Design and maintain intuitive Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications that improve operator effectiveness and system usability
- Expand, enhance, and support SCADA platforms to monitor equipment performance, collect operational data, and provide real-time analytics
- Configure and troubleshoot communication networks and protocols between field equipment, control systems, and client infrastructure
- Conduct field and customer site visits to perform system installations, upgrades, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities
- Diagnose and resolve automation, controls, communication, and instrumentation issues in both office and field environments
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and customer personnel to ensure automation systems meet operational requirements and performance expectations
- Maintain accurate documentation for control systems, software revisions, communication architectures, and operational procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance automation performance, reliability, and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, environmental regulations, and industry best practices
Requirements
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming and industrial automation systems; Experience with the Inductive Automation platform (Ignition); Strong knowledge of Modbus ASCII and Modbus RTU communication protocols; Experience developing and supporting SCADA systems and HMI applications; Understanding of industrial networking, instrumentation, and control system integration; Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of Hydraulic Fracturing operations and related oilfield equipment; Familiarity with field automation systems, remote monitoring, and data acquisition technologies; Professional Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to operators, customers, and management; Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in high-pressure operational environments; Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities; Safety & Compliance: Good understanding of safety practices, environmental regulations, and industry standards applicable to oilfield operations; Commitment to maintaining safe work practices in both office and field environments
- Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; Equivalent industry experience may be considered; Experience supporting hydraulic fracturing fleets, pumping equipment, or oilfield service operations; Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and remote telemetry systems; Experience with commissioning and startup of automated process control systems
