SCADA/HMI/Communication System Lead Engineer

Essential Responsibilities

• Create and refine the architecture for SCADA systems tailored to STATCOM projects.
• Develop user-friendly HMIs for real-time monitoring and control of STATCOM systems.
• Select and design appropriate communication protocols (e.g., MODBUS, DNP3, IEC 61850) for data exchange.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of SCADA/HMI systems in STATCOM projects.
• Ensure seamless integration of SCADA systems with existing infrastructure and other control systems.
• Conduct rigorous testing (functional and performance testing) to validate system reliability and performance.
• Manage system updates, patches, and upgrades to enhance functionality and security.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and reliability of SCADA/HMI systems.
• Ensure that all systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62351).
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to innovate and enhance system capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in system design from energy, industrial or utility projects.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with design engineering tools e.g. Aveva Plant SCADA, Eaton SMP gateway, Zenon software platform etc.
