About the role
The SCADA Controls Engineer III develops and configures SCADA solutions for industrial material-handling projects. This position works closely with the Technical Lead and other Controls team members to ensure successful SCADA deployment and provides post-implementation support, troubleshooting, and training.
Responsibilities
- Serves as subject matter expert and main point of contact on SCADA-related matters.
- Develops and configures SCADA solutions, including Ignition, WinCC, and SAV (TGW’s proprietary software).
- Diagnoses and resolves issues in control systems and Linux-based environments.
- Troubleshoots and addresses internal and external connectivity issues.
- Deploys virtual machines (VMs) to maintain infrastructure efficiency.
- Conducts basic PLC programming, using Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000, to support automation and controls processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Five (5) or more years of Controls Engineering experience, preferably in material-handling, industrial, or warehouse environment.
- Advanced knowledge of control systems troubleshooting, PLC programming, and SCADA systems such as Ignition and WinCC.
- Deep understanding of electrical and mechanical principles, with the ability to read e-drawings and AutoCAD drawings.
- Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7 (STL, SCL, FBD, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience working on full design-to production project lifecycles.
