SCA Estimator

About the role

We are seeking an Estimator with SCA experience to join our team in New York, NY. This role involves preparing accurate and detail-oriented estimates for new projects and change orders, collaborating with project leads, and working closely with sales and pre-construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate project estimates.
• Collaborate with project leads and leadership to develop estimates as part of the larger scope package.
• Prepare detail-oriented and accurate estimates on new projects and estimate prices for change orders on existing contracts, meeting assigned deadlines.
• Estimate shop labor, field installation, materials, buyout items, and equipment costs (including specialty equipment) to prepare thorough bid estimates.
• Read and interpret job bid instructions and detailed specifications; prepare a "take off" of materials included in the job.
• Work directly with Sales and Pre-construction Teams to understand project size, scope, timelines, and deadlines.
• Discuss alternative recommendations for value engineering or alternative estimates to meet client needs.
• Summarize pricing estimates with appropriate leaders to ensure complete job coverage.

Requirements

• Experienced working on SCA projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain estimates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in construction estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective working relationships.

Pay

$45–$58 per hour.
