About the Role

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an SCA Aircraft Mechanic 2 or SCA Aircraft Mechanic 3 to join our team of qualified individuals within our Flight Operations organization. This position will be located at Ellsworth AFB, SD. Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.

Relocation assistance may be available. A Secret clearance is required for start. Travel is required, up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems.
  • Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions.
  • Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations.
  • Maintains customer required records, manuals and inspection forms.
  • Provides on-the-job training to customer personnel per customer needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Must be willing to travel for training to various locations for initial training (minimum 24 weeks) prior to relocating to the permanent location.
  • Must be able and willing to work on an aircraft flightline year-round, across all three shifts and weekend duty.
  • Must be able to transfer and maintain a final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time.

Qualifications

SCA Aircraft Mechanic 2

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in civilian or military aviation maintenance.

SCA Aircraft Mechanic 3

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in civilian or military aviation maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • USAF or equivalent experience as one of the following:
    • Airframe & Powerplant General
    • Hydraulics Mechanic
    • Flightline Jet Engine Mechanic
    • Fuels Systems Mechanic
    • Egress Systems Mechanic
    • Back shop Armament Systems Mechanic
    • Low Observables Maintenance

Pay

Primary level salary range: $45.93 per hour. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
