About the role

This position involves the fabrication of structural assemblies from blueprints. The role requires precision work, including drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools. The successful candidate will align parts, perform fitting operations, and ensure quality standards are met through measurement and verification.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand blueprints to fabricate structural assemblies.
  • Perform precision drilling, countersinking, and use calibrated tools.
  • Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
  • Conduct part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
  • Measure parts with precision tools like micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
  • Modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate structural changes.
  • Verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Utilize manufacturing shop controls and systems daily.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) on the shop floor.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, or systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, or maintenance environment is required.
  • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Capability to work overhead, at heights, and access small, confined spaces.
  • Must have the ability to work any shift.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass required new hire training and compliance modules within a specified timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Candidates with an active DOD secret clearance are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools such as drills, grinders, sanders, and saws.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications, and operating procedures.
  • Experience working from electronic or written instructions.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.

Pay

The pay for this role is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This role may be filled for various shifts, including first shift (Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) and second shift (Monday-Thursday, 5:30 PM - 4:00 AM).
