About the role

The SBM Technician position is responsible for operating and maintaining SBM machine processing systems to meet production requirements and ensure product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Process SBM machines within process guidelines
  • Maximize production requirements
  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications
  • Review daily production performance to meet efficiency goals
  • Maintain housekeeping and safety standards
  • Work with maintenance staff to resolve mechanical issues
  • Maintain Food Safety Program (GMP)

Qualifications

  • Verify quality of finished product
  • React to “out of control” conditions
  • Follow safety procedures
  • Verify barrel, nozzle, and hot runner heats
  • Verify injection pressures
  • Complete Daily PM paperwork
  • Perform proper purging and burn out procedures
  • Start and stop presses safely
  • Remove short shots and troubleshoot processing problems
  • Verify cycle times and react to “out of control” situations
  • Verify air pressures and detect leaks

Schedule

The schedule is a 12-hour rotating shift with two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, etc. Occasional overtime and call-in work may be required.

Organization Relationships

Directly reports to Shift Supervisor for scheduling, performance evaluation, and compensation. Indirectly reports to Department Manager for product requirements, quality requirements, and departmental goals, and to Lead SBM Technician for day-to-day responsibilities.
