Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining a consistent pipeline of high-quality SBA loan opportunities through networking, marketing activities, and relationship building.
- Promoting lending solutions by communicating competitive advantages and value propositions to prospective borrowers and partners.
- Managing the full loan origination process, including lead follow-up, document collection, financial review, and customer support.
- Maintaining accurate pipeline reporting and providing activity updates to leadership.
- Applying knowledge of SBA lending guidelines, eligibility requirements, and credit standards to identify suitable opportunities.
- Preparing loan packages, financial spreads, and credit summaries to support underwriting decisions.
- Collaborating with borrowers, underwriters, and closing teams to collect required documentation and ensure smooth loan processing.
- Maintaining secure handling of confidential borrower information and complying with all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Building productive relationships with clients, referral sources, internal teams, and other stakeholders.
- Supporting additional business initiatives and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5+ years of successful SBA loan origination experience.
- Proven ability to generate business through sales, networking, and relationship management.
- Strong understanding of SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), loan eligibility criteria, and lending requirements.
- Experience with loan analysis, financial spreading, and credit underwriting principles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail.
