3rd Shift (11:00pm - 7:30am) with a $1.00/hr. shift differential. Position is based in Pueblo, Colorado.
About the role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Sawyer I supports the winder operator, ensuring quality, quantity, and accurate finishing of fiberglass conduit in various diameters while adhering to Atkore’s ATIRE protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assist the winder operator to maximize winding equipment uptime
- Receive product from the extractor and cut ends per specifications
- Prepare pipe samples for quality control testing
- Perform final inspection (dimensional and visual) per standards
- Keep accurate production and quality records, including crating and labeling
- Maintain roving rack for continual winding operation
- Assist with changeovers with some assistance
- Affix tri-seals, retainer rings, grind ends for spigots, and inspect each piece with go/no-go gauges
- Maintain housekeeping in assigned area
- Perform any other tasks appointed by management
Requirements
- Minimum educational requirement: high school diploma or equivalent
- Two years’ previous shop experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good understanding of math skills required for quick and accurate counting, calculations, and measurements (radius, inside/outside diameter, length)
- Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization
- Adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands, and able to handle frequent change, delays, or unexpected events calmly and logically
- Able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
- Medically cleared to wear respirator and other required PPE
3-Month Expectations
- Know and follow plant safety rules and wear proper PPE
- Zero safety incidents in the past 90 days of evaluation
- Less than 15 attendance points on the evaluation date
- No documented warnings within 90 days of the probationary period
Pay
Starting pay is $19.00 per hour. Placement in the range depends on competencies, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business needs. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
