Carpenter Co. has immediate openings for a 1st shift Warehouse/Saw Operator in our Fabrication Department at our Longview, NC manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the operation of machinery that cuts and moves foam products and will communicate with the department manager and lead person for direction of material needing to be cut.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret work orders
- Use order listings to determine sizes and amounts to cut
- Run computer-controlled cutting equipment
- Maintain a steady work pace in a high-volume department
- Verify proper machine operations and check output accuracy
- Work independently and in a team environment
- Operate a forklift
- Make machine adjustments when necessary
- Lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift
- Assist with inventory, as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree
- 1+ years manufacturing experience preferred
- 1+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations
- Forklift experience required

- Experience with cutting equipment
- Forklift certification
