About the role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our production team. This role is responsible for accurately cutting materials to specified dimensions, maintaining quality control, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-Operation Checks: Review job prints and instructions before cutting material. Verify material type, color, and specifications against job requirements. Inspect materials for defects, such as dents or scratches, before cutting. Ensure saws and measuring tools are calibrated and functioning correctly. Set up saws properly, including blade selection and alignment.
  • Saw Operation: Accurately read and use a tape measure to ensure precise cuts. Measure and mark materials before cutting. Cut materials according to job specifications, ensuring correct dimensions and tolerances. Perform quality checks on each cut piece to verify accuracy. Adjust saw settings as needed for different materials and thicknesses. Handle materials safely to prevent damage during cutting and transportation.
  • Post-Operation & Maintenance: Stack cut materials neatly and label them correctly. Dispose of scrap materials properly and organize usable drops. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping and debris removal. Perform routine maintenance on saw equipment and report any issues to maintenance personnel. Follow all company safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience operating industrial saws or similar cutting equipment preferred.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure.
  • Ability to read and interpret job prints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision.
  • Basic math and measurement skills to ensure accurate cuts.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Physical ability to lift materials, stand for long periods, and perform manual labor.
