About the role

The Saw Cutter - Asphalt and Concrete will operate concrete saws and perform precise cutting tasks to support various construction projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Utilize concrete and asphalt saws to cut various surfaces.
• Audit cutting depth and blade performance, making adjustments as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of PPE and awareness of site hazards.
• Collaborate with foremen, equipment operators, and laborers to integrate cutting tasks with site operations.
• Assist with site preparation and cleanup tasks, such as removing debris and establishing barriers.
• Document time, material usage, and equipment maintenance in daily logs or job tickets.
• Possess knowledge of different saws, blades, and cutting techniques suitable for various materials and thicknesses.
• Understand construction safety measures and hazard awareness.
• Maintain equipment uptime and adhere to maintenance log requirements.
• Complete assigned cutting tasks promptly.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with site teams.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Operating concrete and asphalt saws (flat saws, wall saws, and hand-held saws).
• Cutting various surfaces like roads, curbs, slabs, sidewalks, trenches, ADA ramps, driveways, aprons, valley gutters, and other structures.
• Auditing cutting depth and blade performance, making adjustments as needed.
• Adhering to safety protocols, including the use of PPE and awareness of site hazards.
• Collaborating with foremen, equipment operators, and laborers to ensure cutting tasks align with site operations.
• Assisting with site preparation and cleanup tasks, such as removing debris and establishing barriers.
• Documenting time, material usage, and equipment maintenance in daily logs or job tickets.
• Possessing knowledge of different types of saws, blades, and cutting techniques suitable for various materials and thicknesses.
• Understanding construction safety measures and hazard awareness.
• Maintaining equipment uptime and adhering to maintenance log requirements.
• Completing assigned cutting tasks promptly.
• Communicating effectively and collaborating with site teams.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Saw Cutter or in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with operating concrete and asphalt cutting equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
• Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Operates at professional construction sites.
• Requires verbal communication, reading, stamina, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, handling, feeling, and reaching.
• May be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, viruses, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines, and dust/debris.
• Works outside frequently for long periods, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.

Position Type/Expected Hours

This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Must be willing to travel to any and all jobsites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary).

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience is preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

• A current driver's license is preferred.
• Must have a clean motor-vehicle record if operating a Company vehicle.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check.
