Saturation Operator

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Understand braiding Especs and loading procedures of the saturationr.
• Check saturation job for proper lengths, sizes and description against Especs and job numbers.
• Assemble all necessary items associated with each saturation job.
• Observe Southwire safety rules, maintain good housekeeping, and perform all other duties as assigned.

Personal Qualifications

• Able to read and comprehend production orders.
• Judgment concerning quality of wire is encountered.
• Able to work well with others.
• In good physical condition.
• Able to follow instructions.

Working Conditions

• Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to exposure to heat, cold, and water.
• Surrounding equipment is somewhat noisy and hearing protection is required.
• Constantly walking, climbing, bending, and pushing.
• Rolling and set-up of reels requiring a force of 50 pounds.

Environmental/Safety/Quality

• Follow all company environmental rules/ procedures.
• Handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact.
• Follow prescribed safety rules/ procedures.
• Prevent injury to self and others and maintain safe equipment and conditions in entire area of responsibility.
• Seek the assistance and advice of safety representatives on matters concerning safe practices, policies, and or procedures.
• Support all safety activities and procedures.
• Use the company’s ISO Quality System documentation to help guide all daily quality activities.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma, or equivalent is required.
• Able to read and write.
• Arithmetic encountered is addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, division, and decimals.
• Able to perform satisfactorily in six to eight weeks.
