Location: Hill Air Force Base, Utah (Onsite). Must be eligible to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

About the role

We are seeking a Network Support Analyst for the Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services (ESGS) Operations Support Cell. This position is located at Hill AFB, in the greater Salt Lake City, UT area. The role involves working in a 24/7 operational environment to support network and satellite communications systems.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update tickets using designated ticketing applications to aid in customer problem tracking and resolution.
  • Monitor network events and element management failures in real-time on a 24x7x365 basis.
  • Perform IP network support, including the configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, and voice equipment.
  • Perform IP satellite modem support, including configuration and issuance of option/boot/RSP files.
  • Remotely access and de-access customers into the IP/SATCOM networks.
  • Work with gateway facilities and deployed operators to troubleshoot and resolve SATCOM and IP network issues.
  • Verify equipment is operating in the baseline configuration.
  • Remotely provide global equipment configurations utilizing the Satellite Access Authorization (SAA) and Gateway Access Authorization (GAA).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with iDirect/Linkway/EBEM or equivalent FM-TDMA hubs; SATCOM background is prioritized.
  • DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE) at the start date.
  • Moderate understanding of Satellite Communications (SATCOM) architecture and signal flow.
  • Moderate understanding and experience with the operation and configuration of MILSATCOM encryption devices.
  • Moderate experience with utilizing SAA/GAAs as source documentation for network configuration.

Schedule

The team operates on rotating shifts, which may include days (7 a.m. - 3 p.m.), mids (3 p.m. - 11 p.m.), and swings (11 p.m. - 7 a.m.). An initial training period of 3-4 months will be conducted on a Monday-Friday day shift schedule.
