About the role

Tutor Doctor Chandler-Gilbert-Ahwatukee is hiring SAT and ACT tutors for in-home and online test‑prep tutoring across the East Valley (Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee, Tempe, Mesa and surrounding areas). The role lets you make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by helping them prepare for college entrance exams without handling the business side of tutoring. Our mission is to help prepare today’s youth to become tomorrow’s successful adults.

Responsibilities

• Help students prepare for the SAT and/or ACT, improve their scores, and build confidence.
• Adapt instruction to individual learning styles, pacing needs, and specific score goals.
• Build meaningful, long‑term 1:1 relationships with students rather than one‑off sessions.
• Utilize provided test‑prep resources, including thousands of practice problems and full‑length practice tests.
• Maintain reliability, professionalism, and consistent follow‑through with scheduled tutoring appointments.

Qualifications

• Current college enrollment or a completed college degree.
• Strong command of SAT and/or ACT content areas (math, reading, writing, science reasoning).
• Background as a teacher, education professional, or test‑prep specialist.
• High personal scores on AP exams, SAT, or ACT.
• Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles and pacing needs.
• Reliability, professionalism, and consistent follow‑through.
• Reliable transportation for in‑home tutoring assignments.
• Understanding of testing and pacing strategies.
