SAT/ACT Math/Verbal Tutors

Huntington Learning Center-Issaquah is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable tutors to join our team. As a tutor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' academic success by providing personalized instruction and support in exam preparation and subject tutoring.

About the role

This is an in-person position. Tutors will utilize effective teaching strategies and resources to engage students and enhance their understanding of the subject matter, assess individual needs, and guide lessons to address specific target goals and scores.

Subjects

• Exam Prep: ACT and SAT (Reading/Writing/Math)
• Subject Tutoring: History, Literature, Writing, Psychology, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Math

Responsibilities

• Utilize effective teaching strategies and resources to engage students and enhance their understanding of the subject matter
• Assess students' individual needs and guide the lesson to address students' specific target goals and scores

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required (backgrounds in education or related fields preferred)
• 1 year of teaching/tutoring experience (preferred)
• Willing to work a minimum of 3 days (10-20 hours) per week and must be flexible
• Ability to reliably commute to Issaquah (98027)
• Strong desire to make a difference in the lives of students

Pay

$22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Schedule

Expected hours: 10–20 per week or more

• Current Schedule:
  • Weekdays: M-Th 3pm-8pm; F: 1pm-7pm
  • Weekends: Sat 9am-4pm and Sun 10am-4pm
• Starting June 22nd:
  • Weekdays: M-Th 9am-7pm; F: 9am-5pm
  • Weekends: Sat 9am-3pm
