SAS Sr Category Analyst

About the role

The SAS Sr. Category Analyst supports Category Merchandising Teams by developing and delivering reports and analyses on merchandising, pricing, financials, and customer behavior. Working within platforms, the Category Analyst optimizes assortment and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure alignment with Category Directors and manufacturer goals. Focused on schematic assortments, they partner with the schematic analyst team to maintain product assortments using software programs for assigned categories.

Responsibilities

• Achieve deliverables according to brand timeline for assortment creation, including partnering with other departments on said deliverables
• Create dashboards
• Perform pricing analytics
• Conduct margin and profitability analysis
• Analyze category performance
• Produce store-level performance reporting
• Report data errors to the appropriate party for resolution
• Provide assortment analytics to supporting departments
• Assist category managers in understanding store space limitations and develop innovative solutions to meet company objectives
• Monitor store scanning and continuously evaluate each step in the process for opportunities
• Provide POS-reset analysis to check on implemented changes performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience
• Experience with analysis in a professional setting
• Experience in merchandising is a plus
• Knowledge of industry products and understanding of space planning processes
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and customer teams
• Thrives in deadline-driven environments
• Highly organized, reliable, and skilled in drawing insights to influence decisions and drive results
• Excellent communication abilities
• Well-organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Intellectually curious, eager to problem solve, and a quick learner
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Proficiency in Power BI
