Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain future-state enterprise architecture aligned to SAP S/4HANA-enabled business capabilities and ERP roadmaps.
  • Lead architecture decision-making for Finance (Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay) or Supply Chain (Plan, Make, Deliver, inventory, logistics).
  • Establish and guide boundary application strategy, recommending when to replace, retain, or integrate satellite systems.
  • Define and enforce clean core architecture guardrails, using SAP-recommended extensibility patterns and pragmatic exception governance.
  • Guide custom code strategy, including rationalization, remediation, and redesign to reduce technical debt and support S/4HANA adoption.
  • Ensure integration alignment across SAP and non-SAP systems using standardized patterns and architectural principles.
  • Use enterprise architecture tools (such as LeanIX or equivalent) to provide transparency into dependencies, integrations, and rationalization opportunities.
  • Develop concise, executive-ready architecture materials that clearly outline options, trade-offs, and recommendations for governance and leadership forums.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in SAP architecture or solution architecture, including significant hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Deep functional and architectural expertise in either Finance or Supply Chain business processes.
  • Demonstrated experience defining enterprise architecture, integration strategies, and target-state designs in complex environments.
  • Ability to communicate architectural concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in consulting or systems integration, with exposure to multiple SAP S/4HANA implementation approaches (greenfield, brownfield, or selective transition).
  • Experience with clean core governance, extensibility frameworks, and custom code reduction initiatives.
  • Familiarity with LeanIX, capability mapping, or dependency visualization tools.
  • Experience supporting SAP modernization assessments, including simplification items, readiness planning, or custom code impact analysis.
