SAP QC Analyst III

About the role

The SAP QC Analyst III must be detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. This role requires the ability to understand and conceptualize applications from both technical/programming and business perspectives. The analyst will follow an SDLC methodology for software quality checking by reviewing original business requirements, creating or assisting with test plans, executing those plans, and documenting any issues found.

Responsibilities

• Create automated test scripts and automation plans, following QA automation practices in the software release pipeline.
• Assist with the deployment of applications to the business, perform user training, and support rollouts.
• Consult with customers to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
• Execute business application quality requirements for functional business areas.
• Interview project stakeholders, document findings, and make detailed recommendations.
• Create logical and physical data flow models and address data quality issues with clients and management.
• Provide second and third-level application support for help desk tickets unresolved by the help desk team.
• Write code and debug software applications.
• Write IT test plans and execute IT and business-created test plans.
• Create automated test plans and implement scheduled execution of relevant automated tests.
• Recommend system changes and enhancements.
• Serve as a model and mentor to IT-Co-op team members and less experienced staff.
• Stay current with industry changes, recommend, and implement industry best practices.
• Facilitate user acceptance of QA test plans and manage approvals regarding software releases.
• Guide the selection, implementation, review, and governance of QA tools and applications.
• Define QA processes and governance models.
• Report on quality metrics related to software releases and project deliverables.
• Identify areas of improvement and derive methodologies for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Understanding of programming best practices and methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with technical personnel, business managers, and project teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a development team on small, medium, large, and enterprise projects.
• Strong interview skills to engage with project stakeholders.
• Extended knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
• Basic understanding of relational database practices.
• Familiarity with major enterprise database programs such as SQL Server or DB2.
• Knowledge of data modeling tools and methodologies, including database system applications and stored procedures.
• A degree of creativity and latitude in problem-solving.
