SAP Program Manager - 100% Remote

Location: US – Remote (with travel)

About the role

As Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing a large program or a cluster of SAP projects, focusing on program governance, defining methodology, best practices, and facilitating the use of archives & tools for the Customer Success department. Working in close collaboration with customers and partners, you will ensure programs stay on track, are delivered on time, and that risks are identified early with clear mitigation plans.

Responsibilities

• Manage a large or a cluster of SAP projects.
• Extensive experience working for large IT services/IT outsourcing companies, with strong client‑facing and delivery experience.
• Focus on customer engagement management and relationships – overseeing project delivery.
• Work with customer/partner management teams, system owners and technical architects to ensure delivery timelines are understood and any issues/risks are documented and escalated.
• Ensure that project processes and approval gateways are defined and met in the delivery plan.
• Establish and maintain a project plan to track and monitor delivery progress for the agreed schedule.
• Agree on a reporting profile with business teams to include resource profile, costs and milestone achievement status; provide status and progress reports as required.
• Manage the Project Time Management Plan defined by senior management; build schedules based on the internal standard WBS, contractual targets and stakeholder data.
• Provide timely updated schedule/revenue situation, highlighting gaps between actual and baseline.
• Identify potential delays early (critical paths), including risk status and margin related to the schedule.
• Consolidate, review and present program data to Customer Success leadership.
• Provide data and reports on project progress, milestone achievement, risk mitigation, financial data (budget, margins, actual costs) and timely dashboards for business reviews.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

• Bachelor’s/Post Graduate in Engineering (IT, CS, ECE, or EEE) or equivalent.

Behavioral Competencies

• Excellent communication skills in German (Deutsch) and English; ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate at all levels, including top management.
• Strong knowledge of SAP systems.
• Several years of program and client management experience; ability to oversee details of multiple projects simultaneously.
• In‑depth understanding of ERP SAP business solutions as a Program Manager.
• Excellent client‑facing and relationship management experience; PMP/PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent; SAP S/4HANA experience is desirable.
• Good leadership skills with attention to detail, data literacy and organisational awareness.
• Team player with prior experience working with global teams (preferable).
• Strong people orientation and collaboration skills.

Technical Competencies and Experience

• 10+ years of experience in an IT organisation, involved in end‑to‑end software services/product development.
• Minimum 7 years of experience managing/leading a Project Management Office.
• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative workplace and actively engage in delivery processes across different geographical locations.
• Strong delivery and process background.
• Experience in project/program execution and management.
