SAP MM-WM System Architect
This is a hybrid role located in one of the following Eaton facilities: Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Smyrna, GA; Beachwood, OH; Moon Township, PA; Raleigh, NC; Houston, TX; Menomonee Falls, WI; or South Milwaukee, WI. The expected annual salary range for this role is $130,000 - $190,000, based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
About the Role
The SAP MM-WM System Architect defines and communicates a shared architectural vision for a complex, highly integrated product to support current and future business needs. This role requires expertise in SAP MM and WM/EWM modules, with exposure to manufacturing processes within a diverse IT landscape. The System Architect collaborates with Agile teams to evaluate solutions, validate assumptions, and align with broader architectural guardrails.
Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in planning, definition, development, and high-level design of complex product solutions and architectural alternatives.
- Enable a continuous delivery pipeline through proper design guidelines.
- Define and communicate system interfaces, data structures, data storage, integrations, cybersecurity considerations, test automation concepts, and deployment approaches.
- Configure standard business processes in Material Management and Warehouse Management Modules in both ECC and S/4HANA.
- Design business process integration of SAP MM with SD, FICO, and PP in ECC and S/4HANA.
- Establish and communicate critical nonfunctional requirements.
- Consider economic boundaries in design decisions.
- Participate in solution planning, incremental planning, product demos, and inspect-and-adapt events.
- Plan and develop the architectural runway for a product to support desired business outcomes.
- Provide technical oversight and encourage security, quality, and automation.
- Negotiate with business stakeholders to prioritize nonfunctional work (e.g., patching, platform upgrades) and reduce technical debt.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the software industry with a proven track record of shipping high-quality products.
- Must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of one of the following locations: Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Smyrna, GA; Beachwood, OH; Moon Township, PA; Raleigh, NC; Houston, TX; Menomonee Falls, WI; or South Milwaukee, WI.

Qualifications
- Preferred:
- Extensive experience utilizing best practices in SAP ECC and S/4HANA.
- Expert-level understanding of Material Management and Warehouse Management modules in both ECC and S/4HANA.
- Extensive experience integrating SAP MM with PP, SD, FI/CO, and boundary systems such as intralogistics, shopfloor connectivity (IoT), PLM, and MES.
- Working knowledge of EDI.
- Exposure to SAP BTP environment.
- Experience with SAP APIs, Event Mesh, and Kafka.
- Experience working with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
