SAP MM-WM System Architect

About the Role

Eaton Corporation is seeking a System Architect to join our Information Technology team. This hybrid role can be located in one of our facilities in Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, Smyrna, GA, Beachwood, OH, Moon Township, PA, Raleigh, NC, Houston, TX, Menomonee Falls, WI, or South Milwaukee, WI. The expected annual salary range is $130,000 - $190,000, based on skills, experience, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate a shared architectural vision for a complex product to support current and future business needs.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to consider solutions, validate technology assumptions, evaluate alternatives, and converge on a solution.
• Work closely with Enterprise and Solution Architects to deliver solutions aligned with broader architecture guardrails.
• Lead and participate in the planning, definition, development, and high-level design of complex product solutions and architectural alternatives.
• Enable a continuous delivery pipeline through proper design guidelines.
• Define and communicate system interfaces, data structures, data storage, integrations, cybersecurity considerations, test automation concepts, and deployment approaches.
• Configure standard business processes in Material Management and Warehouse Management Modules in both ECC and S/4HANA.
• Design business process integration of SAP MM with SD, FICO, and PP in ECC and S/4HANA.
• Establish and communicate critical nonfunctional requirements.
• Consider the impact of economic boundaries on design decisions.
• Participate in solution planning, incremental planning, product demos, and inspect and adapt events.
• Plan and develop the architectural runway for a product that supports desired business outcomes.
• Provide technical oversight and encourage security, quality, and automation.
• Negotiate with the business to prioritize nonfunctional work (e.g., patching, platform upgrades) to reduce technical debt.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the software industry with a proven track record of shipping high-quality products.
• Candidates must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of specified locations; relocation is not available.
• No immigration sponsorship or support for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience utilizing best practices in SAP ECC and S/4 HANA.
• Expert-level understanding of Material Management and Warehouse Management modules in both ECC and S/4 HANA environments.
• Extensive experience with integrations involving PP, SD, FI/CO, and boundary systems (intralogistics, shopfloor connectivity, PLM, MES).
• Working knowledge of EDI.
• Exposure to SAP BTP environment.
• Extensive experience with SAP APIs, Event Mesh, and Kafka.
• Experience working with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
