SAP HANA Database Developer

About the role

The position focuses on SAP HANA database development, ETL implementation using SAP BODS and Apache NiFi, troubleshooting production issues, automating and optimizing data pipelines, creating documentation, performing impact analyses, and supporting data‑driven reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop SAP HANA database objects and perform ETL using SAP BODS with minimal guidance.
• Create, optimize BODS jobs and Apache NiFi flows.
• Create SAP HANA views and replicate tables.
• Perform general data engineering tasks.
• Troubleshoot production issues urgently and recover to meet customer needs.
• Implement automation and guardrails; think outside the box to optimize daily ETL jobs.
• Create and revise documentation.
• Perform impact analysis of the current state for upcoming changes.
• Execute development to support data‑driven analysis and metric reporting, including data collection, reporting development, and analytics execution.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• 6+ years of experience with SAP HANA or SAP Business Objects suite.
• Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience working with SAP HANA database.
• 3+ years of experience with data analytics and/or visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
• 6+ years of experience in ETL tools, especially SAP BODS and Apache NiFi.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• 3+ years of automation experience, including impact assessment and lineage analysis.
• Ability to create mappings and complete documentation.
• Understanding of data governance, data security, and data quality.
• Expertise in developing data warehouse solutions.
• Experience with ERP, PLM, MES, or related systems and processes.
• Ability to utilize internal AI tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Experience must be specifically as an SAP HANA database developer.
