About the role
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team providing building inspection and consulting services for commercial and residential construction projects. Our firm specializes in constructability reviews, building code compliance, building envelope review, and project management across all phases of construction.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site building inspections for commercial and residential construction projects
- Conduct constructability reviews to identify potential issues before construction begins
- Evaluate building code compliance and provide detailed reports on findings
- Complete building envelope reviews including moisture management, air barriers, and thermal performance
- Manage project timelines, coordinate with contractors and design teams, and ensure quality control
- Prepare clear, detailed inspection reports and documentation for clients
- Provide expert consulting advice on construction methods, materials, and best practices
- Communicate code requirements and recommended solutions to clients and project stakeholders
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection, construction management, or related field
- ICC certification as a Building Inspector, Plans Examiner, or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of building codes (IBC, IRC, NFPA, and local amendments)
- Experience with commercial and residential construction project types
- Strong understanding of building envelope systems and construction detailing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and report writing software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in documentation
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Customer service orientation with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Physical ability to navigate construction sites including ladders, scaffolding, and uneven terrain
