A day in the life
As a Sanitation Employee, you will engage in continuous learning, tackle new challenges, and maintain a strong attention to detail. Your responsibilities will include breaking down and sanitizing machinery, ensuring that all allergens are thoroughly cleaned from designated areas, and performing general sanitation of plant equipment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Disassembles and/or cleans and sanitizes equipment per RSC guidelines to ensure FDA standards are maintained in the plant.
- Requests, receives, delivers, secures, and maintains products and materials required to do the job.
- Operates and maintains machinery, equipment, and tools in a safe and proficient manner according to guidelines, standards, and instructions.
- Reads and understand sanitation specifications established by RSC and follows those specifications with supervision.
- Performs other clean-up activities assigned by the supervisor.
- Reassembles plant machinery to prepare for each day’s production.
- Ensures plant floor is 5S compliant before each production day.
- Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality and maintain compliance with food safety standards.
- Completes and follows FSQA training and programs to comply with regulatory requirements, ensure consumer safety, and support the plant’s food safety and quality objectives.
- Promptly reports and takes appropriate action on any observed or potential food safety hazards, process deviations, or non-conformities by notifying the designated plant supervisor, in accordance with your role and responsibilities.
- Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of the company’s Food Safety Culture through engagement and actions aligned with your role.
Basic Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently, with or without an accommodation.
- Experience in an industrial cleaning environment.
- Ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend and lift overhead.
- Ability to stand on hard surfaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two or more years in a manufacturing facility.
- A passion for cleaning.
