Overview
The Sanitation Technician II is responsible for the proper disassembly, Sanitation, And Assembly Of production equipment. Essential Functions include handling chemicals to sanitize production equipment and areas according to the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, performing complex disassembly and assembly of equipment, ensuring plant sanitary conditions according to established food safety and quality standards, and collaborating with Maintenance and Production to ensure setup efficiency and accuracy.
The Sanitation Setup Sanitor will also be responsible for reporting any quality and sanitary deficiencies to the shift team leaders or manager.
Responsibilities

- Disassemble and reassemble all machinery on assigned line in a safe, timely and damage free manner.
- Ensure assigned equipment is properly assembled, operating properly, and is available to production at scheduled startup times.
- Responsible for reading and understanding the production schedule, and properly assembling all equipment and outfitting the production line(s) as required to meet the demands of the schedule.
- Responsible for investigating and reporting any equipment wear and tear, broken parts, metal corrosion, equipment malfunction and other equipment issues to the Sanitation Team Leader or Sanitation Manager.
- Responsible for checking all conveyors, attachments, guides and other added accessories for their assigned line to ensure they are properly installed, adjusted and operational.
- Ensure the entire line is run-ready, from forming to packing, prior to the commencement of operations.
- Responsible for the proper handling and storage of removed parts and equipment.
- Maintain availability and respond promptly and diligently to sanitation or setup issues arising during the daily startup of production lines.
- Responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of any required hand tools. All tools and toolboxes are to be kept clean and sanitary.
- Ensure proper care of equipment during the cleaning process, including:
- Covering control boxes and critical components to prevent water infiltration.
- Safe and non-destructive transportation and storage of equipment and components.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including:
- Chemical Safety
- Lockout/Tagout
- Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)
- Reporting any unsafe conditions
- Immediately reporting any near miss, injury, or accident to Team Leader or Manager
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP) as outlined by Ajinomoto.
- Handle equipment and chemicals in accordance with company, government and safety data sheet guidelines.
- As Required, Train Other Sanitation Setup Sanitors.
- Assist with other Sanitation work as needed.
Qualifications
- Job Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
- Experience in sanitation procedures in a food manufacturing plant is helpful.
- Good English communication skills (reading, writing and verbal) are essential to interface with co-workers and supervisors.
