Job Summary
Follows standard operating procedures to perform cleaning on production equipment to ensure safety and hygiene. May record information to reflect sanitation activities and issues. Advises/updates supervisor/manager of progress and or other non-routine issues.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Follows established procedures in the cleaning and sanitation of idle production equipment.
- Wets washes rooms and production lines.
- Completes required reporting to reflect activity.
- Advises supervisor when supplies need to be ordered.
Qualifications And Physical Demands
- Must be capable of being productive on across all shifts including weekends.
- Regularly stands while performing duties.
- Occasionally sits, walks, stoops or crouches.
- Moves up to 50-75 pounds with a hoist, pallet-jack or cart, and regularly lifts up to 50 pounds.
- Trained and certified to use a scissor lift to perform cleaning tasks at heights of up to 20 feet above the plant floor.
- Trained and certified to perform Lock Out/Tag Out protocols on production equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention detail are critical skills for this position.
- Able to communicate and take direction from the Sanitation Group Lead and/or the Sanitation Supervisor.
Work Environment
- Multi-shift production operations may be expansive, noisy, wet/humid and vary in temperature from refrigerated environment, ambient or warm in summer months depending on facility.
- Perform work in areas which have strong food smells.
