About the Role
Michael Foods, Inc. is a leader in the food processing and distribution industry, specializing in egg products, refrigerated grocery, and potato products. Our Gaylord, Minnesota facility produces liquid egg, hard-cooked egg, and precooked egg products such as scrambled eggs, patties, and omelets. This position is based in Gaylord, located in south-central Minnesota, about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm.
Responsibilities
- Learn and follow correct cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
- Clean all parts and equipment (e.g., pumps, depositors, Roncos) and reassemble them.
- Obtain general knowledge of every area of the production floor.
- Follow all company procedures and policies, including safety work rules and food safety & quality standards.
- Operate and maintain CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems in the assigned department.
- Follow instructions and report production or sanitation issues to leads or supervisors.
- Complete required HACCP paperwork at the end of each shift and communicate maintenance needs.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Assist with production and sanitation needs as required.
- Adhere to safety procedures, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and Confined Space requirements.
- Train and develop coworkers on sanitation procedures.
- Perform light maintenance on machines and conveyors.
- Communicate with the Control Room on CIPs, USDA on inspections, and maintenance on equipment issues.
- Ensure a safe and healthy workplace for all employees.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality.
- Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successful completion of yearly LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) Training.
- Successful completion of yearly Chemical Training.
- Forklift and mule driver’s license may be required.
- Ability to learn and follow correct cleaning procedures.
- Ability to clean and reassemble equipment parts.
Preferred Qualifications
- One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $19.38 to $22.95 per hour.
