Job Description
Willow Tree Poultry Farm is seeking a hands-on Sanitation Supervisor – 2nd Shift to lead the sanitation team and uphold the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise all 2nd shift sanitation staff and activities
- Oversee the cleaning and sanitizing of the production facility and equipment
- Validate that work areas and equipment have been properly cleaned and sanitized using ATP testing – not just visual inspection – before release for production
- Conduct and coordinate the end-of-shift pre-operational (pre-op) inspection; do not release equipment or production lines for next-day startup until they pass
- Mix, apply, and verify sanitation chemical concentrations correctly (titration/test strips), follow Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements, and enforce proper PPE use
- Ensure accurate, legible, real-time completion of SSOP records, daily sanitation checklists, and ATP logs, and execute the periodic deep-clean tasks on the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS)
- Ensure sanitation schedules align with production needs
- Train and coach sanitation employees through hands-on leadership
- Monitor labor hours and approve employee time records
- Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, and company sanitation standards
- Troubleshoot sanitation, equipment, and staffing issues
- Communicate about equipment, maintenance, and supply needs to management
- Assign staff appropriately to ensure quality and efficiency
- Partner with Quality Control and Production teams to support plant operations
What You Bring
- 2–3+ years of sanitation, manufacturing, or leadership experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work hands-on in a production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
- Understanding of cleaning validation versus cleaning itself; experience using an ATP testing device (luminometer) to verify sanitation is a plus
- Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems quickly
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CFS and OSHA 10 certifications preferred
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safe equipment disassembly and reassembly
- Familiarity with environmental monitoring, zone-based cleaning, and responding to presumptive Listeria positives in a ready-to-eat (RTE) environment preferred
- Multilingual skills are a plus
Physical & Work Environment
- Work in refrigerated production environments for extended periods
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
- Comfortable standing, walking, climbing, and operating equipment
- Ability to safely operate tools, forklifts, and sanitation equipment
Schedule & Expectations
- Full-time, 2nd Shift
- 3:00 PM until finish
- 8–10-hour shifts, 5–6 days per week
- Occasional Saturdays and on-call coverage may be required
- Strong attendance and reliability are essential
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- A stable, growing family-owned company
- A team-oriented environment with hands-on leadership
- Opportunity to make a direct impact on food safety and operations
- Competitive pay and leadership opportunity
