Responsibilities

• Know and understand the functions of cleaning chemicals and tools used for sanitation purposes.
• Communicate effectively with supervisory staff regarding plant sanitation and safety procedures.
• Perform procedures for cleaning and sanitizing the plant and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal regulations and standards.
• Work in a safe and orderly manner while in the plant or on company property.
• Work 12-hour shifts with varied starting times as mandated by the sanitation schedule.
• Climb stairs and ladders, push/pull, and reach above shoulder height frequently.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Read and understand container labels, written procedures, MSDS, and equipment instructions.
• Wear a wet suit and all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Correctly use crank up ladders, electric man lifts, pressure washers, and hand tools.
• Work in high and precarious areas of the plant using proper safety equipment.
• Explain and demonstrate the proper use of cleaning chemicals.
• Meet the requirements to perform the essential functions of the Trim and Inspect positions.
• Keep work area clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in varied temperatures and humidity.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with one to three months of training and/or related experience.
• Possess the ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents such as company rules, equipment instructions, container labels, MSDS, and procedure manuals.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisory staff.
• Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and determine percentages and parts per million using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions, furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Have the ability to explain and demonstrate the proper use of cleaning chemicals.

Must have the ability to:

Pay

A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is $21.18. Actual compensation may be higher or lower based on various factors.

Schedule

Work 12-hour shifts with varied starting times as mandated by the sanitation schedule.
