Responsibilities
- Know and understand the functions of cleaning chemicals and tools used for sanitation purposes.
- Communicate effectively with supervisory staff regarding plant sanitation and safety procedures.
- Perform procedures for cleaning and sanitizing the plant and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Work in a safe and orderly manner while in the plant or on company property.
- Work 12-hour shifts with varied starting times as mandated by the sanitation schedule.
- Climb stairs and ladders, push/pull, and reach above shoulder height frequently.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Read and understand container labels, written procedures, MSDS, and equipment instructions.
- Wear a wet suit and all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Correctly use crank up ladders, electric man lifts, pressure washers, and hand tools.
- Work in high and precarious areas of the plant using proper safety equipment.
- Explain and demonstrate the proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Meet the requirements to perform the essential functions of the Trim and Inspect positions.
- Keep work area clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work in varied temperatures and humidity.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with one to three months of training and/or related experience.
- Possess the ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents such as company rules, equipment instructions, container labels, MSDS, and procedure manuals.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisory staff.
- Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and determine percentages and parts per million using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions, furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Have the ability to explain and demonstrate the proper use of cleaning chemicals.

Pay
A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is $21.18. Actual compensation may be higher or lower based on various factors.
Schedule
Work 12-hour shifts with varied starting times as mandated by the sanitation schedule.
