- Friday through Monday
- Friday & Monday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
About the Role
The Sanitation Lead ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures, completes daily tasks as outlined on the MSDS, and is proficient with food-grade cleaning products. This role blends document control and administrative support with hands-on production-floor oversight to guarantee accurate documentation and operational support.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining the Sanitation program (HACCP, Allergen, etc.) in compliance with customer and government regulations
- Develop Sanitation procedures and related paperwork
- Work with the Sanitation Supervisor to identify sanitation or regulatory issues at the facility
- Ensure all Company and Customer standards are met through policy, procedures, and documentation
- Foster an environment that supports the growth of supervisors and managers
- Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives for facility sanitation
- Manage relationships with Sanitation chemical suppliers
- Hold sanitation staff accountable for performance and standards
- Verify that all chemicals used in the plant are approved and have current MSDS information on site
- Conduct dilution testing for all chemicals requiring dilution
- Develop and train staff on each step of plant clean-up procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Sanitation Supervisor
Requirements
- Master Sanitation Schedule and other legal requirements for the food industry, including GMPs
- Knowledge of FDA and MDA regulations
- Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, Allergens, and SQF standards
- Experience with Pest Control programs
- Understanding of the 10 principles of sanitary equipment design
- Good understanding of commercial bakeries, bakery equipment, and ingredient functionality as it relates to insect development
- Strong record-keeping skills and ability to handle conflicts with a positive, practical attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literacy, self-motivation, and sound business decision-making
- Strong motivational and interpersonal skills
- Analytical ability and leadership strength
- Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the food industry
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the location to which they apply; sponsorship for work authorization is not available.
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in an office setting. Infrequent exposure to the production environment includes noise, dust, moving machinery, forklifts, and temperature fluctuations.
