Sanitation Lead 3rd Shift

About the role

Work closely with the sanitation team to ensure all plant processing equipment is cleaned and sanitized prior to the start of production. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production lines for equipment malfunctions or product defects.
• Load raw materials into equipment, unload work in progress or finished product, and move materials to and from equipment.
• Identify and reject product with rips or blowouts.
• Dip product into sanitizing bath as required.
• Notify lead or supervisory staff of any unusual operations.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with existing policies.
• Comply with organizational policies, including safety, good manufacturing practices, food safety, and employment/work rules.
• Learn and apply personal safety and food safety procedures.
• Perform pre-operation tasks, including machine setup and teardown.
• Scrap inedible product as needed.
• Inspect product to meet customer specifications.
• Follow all safety procedures through education, training, use of protective equipment, and adherence to safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience is required.
• 0-1 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
• Ability to read a scale, document weights, and input data into an ERP system.

Work Environment

• Work is performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people, and conveyors.
• Typical conditions of a food manufacturing facility.
• No domestic travel required.
• Frequent physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, and using hands or fingers.
• Requires standing/walking on concrete flooring for more than 4 hours.
• Frequent lifting above shoulder height and repetitive hand manipulation.
