About the role

The Sanitation Associate plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional warehouse environment. This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the warehouse exterior, surrounding grounds, and assigned support areas through routine sanitation, debris removal, and facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Routine sanitation of the warehouse exterior, including power washing warehouse entrances and compactor areas as scheduled or needed.
• Sweeping parking lots, smoking areas, dock areas, and assigned interior spaces.
• Collecting and disposing of trash, leaves, wood, and other debris.
• Mopping spills and maintaining clean, safe walking surfaces.
• Cleaning and maintaining assigned safety equipment and facility fixtures.
• Removing floor labels and adhesive residue from assigned areas.
• Performing routine cleaning of designated equipment and work areas.
• Following all safety and sanitation standards while completing assigned duties.
• Lifting and moving product weighing up to 80 lbs.
• Operating heavy warehouse equipment, such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Learning to operate a cherry-picker and working in high places (must not be afraid of heights).

Requirements

• At least 3 months of work experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to receive and follow directions.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent work ethic.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.
• Must pass drug screen and physical exam.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Physical requirements: Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions. Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time, tolerate repetitive lifting, and work through an 8-hour shift.
• Skills: Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrist, hands, feet and legs. Must be able to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds.
