About the role
Lead and facilitate a full-time sanitation crew and participate in the sanitation of the distribution facility at ADUSA Distribution, the distribution arm of Ahold Delhaize USA. ADUSA Distribution supports the supply chain network evolution to an integrated self-distribution model, serving leading omnichannel grocery brands including Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company, Hannaford, and Stop & Shop.
Responsibilities
- Act for department supervisor in their absence
- Plan, organize, delegate, and follow up on associates' job duties
- Complete required paperwork in a timely manner
- Ensure all areas of responsibility operate safely, orderly, and effectively
- Assist the supervisor with interviewing and hiring new associates
- Perform sanitation tasks while ensuring crew tasks meet standards
- Train sanitation associates and sub-contracted crew on sanitation tasks
- Ensure the crew understands and follows safe work practices
- Maintain OSHA compliance and regulations
- Manage sanitation supply inventory
- Provide research and advise management on equipment and supply purchases
- Perform minor maintenance and adjustments on cleaning equipment
- Recommend modifications to procedures or processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs
- Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards for accuracy, safety, and productivity
Qualifications
- Ability to meet production standards set by the company
- Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers
- Must be able to work the needed schedule to perform assigned duties
- Able to use a personal computer for data entry and research purposes
- Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
- Reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to and including 60 lbs
- Stand for long periods of time
- Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (e.g., cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks)
Preferred Requirements
- High school education
- Certification on powered industrial equipment where applicable
- Familiarity or experience in a distribution environment
- Excellent customer service, communication, verbal, and written skills
- Demonstrated effective and successful leadership skills
