Sanitation Associate Freezer Dept (PM)

About the Role

ADUSA Distribution is the distribution company of Ahold Delhaize USA, providing distribution services to one of the largest grocery retail supply chains in the nation. ADUSA Distribution receives, stores, manages inventory, and ships fresh and non-perishable product throughout the network of local brand stores. The facility handles a mix of product types, including fresh, frozen, grocery, and health and beauty care items.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate a full-time sanitation crew and participate in the sanitation of the distribution facility.
• Act for the department supervisor in their absence.
• Plan, organize, delegate, and follow up on associates' job duties.
• Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Ensure all areas of responsibility run safely, orderly, and effectively.
• Assist the supervisor with interviewing and hiring new associates.
• Perform sanitation tasks while ensuring crew tasks meet standards.
• Train sanitation associates or sub-contracted crew on sanitation tasks.
• Ensure the crew understands and follows safe work practices.
• Responsible for OSHA compliance and regulations.
• Maintain sanitation supply inventory.
• Provide research and advise management on equipment and supply purchases.
• Perform minor maintenance and adjustments on cleaning equipment.
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in accuracy, safety, and productivity.

Requirements

• Ability to meet production standards set by the company.
• Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.
• Must be able to work the needed schedule to perform assigned duties.
• Able to use a personal computer for data entry and research purposes.
• Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to and including 60 lbs.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (e.g., cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).

Preferred Qualifications

• High school education.
• Certification on powered industrial equipment where applicable.
• Familiarity or experience in a distribution environment.
• Excellent customer service, communication, verbal, and written skills.
• Demonstrated effective and successful leadership skills.
