About the role
Get Fresh Produce has been operating since 1982, delivering fresh produce and other products to restaurants and other end users located in the Midwest region. The Sanitation Associate maintains cleanliness in the warehouse and office areas on the 1st shift in Bartlett, IL.
Responsibilities
- Perform sanitation duties using equipment such as Bailer Machine, Sky Jack, Forklift, Walkie Ryder, and electric pallet jacks (previous experience is a plus)
- Sanitize warehouse and office spaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
- Follow established SSOP’s (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)
- Adhere to procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
- Maintain up-to-date record documents (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) using Provision Analytics Software
- Ensure all designated areas are wiped or brushed down to remove all visible soil
- Notify Management promptly of any building or equipment repairs needed
- Check for signs of pest activity and report any issues to management
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining the chemical supply inventory
- Collect and remove refuse from all designated areas
- Provide Management feedback on the janitor team’s performance, conduct daily meetings, and coach/train the team
- Maintain regular and satisfactory full-time attendance
- Perform work outside of normal business hours as required
- Complete special projects as assigned by the Facility Manager
- Work on holidays due to operational requirements
- Manage Provisions, including master sanitation online records, hard copies, and other documents
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong listening and problem-solving skills
- Organized with a detail-oriented approach
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience working in different temperature settings (Freezer, Refrigerated, Ambient)
- Experience in Distribution/Commercial roles, preferably in food settings
- Familiarity with Food Safety procedures
- Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals
- Ability to read, speak, and write English satisfactorily (bilingual is a plus)
- Experience with Counterbalance, Ryder, Forklift, or Scissor lift (not required but beneficial)
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
Physical Demands
- Frequently carry, push/pull, and lift objects up to 75 lbs
- Stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods of time
- Perform repetitive motions, including scrubbing, climbing, or reaching above the shoulders
- Work in cold and wet cooler conditions for extended periods
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 4:00 AM – 1:30 PM or until work is completed. Holidays and some Sundays are required depending on business needs. This is an in-person position located in Bartlett, IL.

Pay
$19.00 per hour.
