Sanitation Associate 3rd Shift

About the Role

The Sanitation Associate is responsible for all activities involved in maintaining the cleanliness and food-safe environment of the Processing facility, surrounding area, and equipment. The primary purpose of this job is to perform daily sanitation of all processing lines, in conjunction with the company's Vision, Mission, and Values.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program and commitment to a safe workplace for all.
• Ensures safety is a priority in day-to-day functions.
• Ensures food safety and food defense in the plant.
• Implements all GMP and HACCP procedures related to cleanliness, food safety, and pest control within the facility.
• Maintains a supply of cleaning chemicals necessary for the operation of the cleaning program in compliance with OSHA and FDA regulations.
• Knowledgeable in best practices and safety, understanding SDS information, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses or goggles, chemical safety gloves, aprons, suits, rubber boots, safety helmet, hairnet, and uniform).
• Performs Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment energy before cleaning.
• Able to perform duties at various heights.
• Follows and complies with all Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Communicates effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other departments.
• Proficient at routine preventative maintenance as well as changeovers.
• Follows all safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Attends all company training sessions and team meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Flexible with schedule, including start times and weekend work (holidays).
• Able to work in a team environment and independently.
• Manual and finger dexterity.
• Ability to work in a noisy environment for the length of the shift (ear protection required).
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Able to reach above shoulder height.
• Capable of sitting, bending, twisting, standing, climbing stairs/ladders, pushing/pulling, and walking for the length of the shift.

• Work in wet and/or humid conditions.
• Work in cold or hot environments.
• Work around machinery.
