Facility Cleaning
- Clean floors, walls, and drains.
- Remove waste, sort recycling, and maintain a highly organized workspace.
Equipment Washdown
- Disassemble, scrub, and sanitize complex seafood processing machinery, tables, and conveyor belts.
- Follow established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
Chemical Handling
- Safely dilute and apply heavy-duty cleaning chemicals and sanitizers.
- Ensure appropriate ratios and adhere to safety guidelines.
Works Closely with Operations
Ensure a clean environment and quality product through collaboration with operations personnel.
Compliance & Documentation
- Sign off on sanitation logs.
- Ensure the facility meets Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and local health regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and improve the sanitation process at Fortune.
- Monitor and report any potential contamination issues to the Supervisor immediately.
Hazard Reporting
- Immediately alert supervisors or Quality Control to any potential contamination, pest issues, or safety hazards.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods.
- Bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort working in wet, cold, or freezing environments.
Communications
- English verbal communication skills.
Schedule
- Adhere to the assigned work schedule.
- Second shift hours typically begin in the early to late afternoon (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM or 12:00 PM start times).
- May include weekend or rotating shifts.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: 1 plus years of experience in janitorial work or sanitation, preferably within a food processing, meat, or seafood environment.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Work Ethic: Demonstrated desire to work in an exciting and fast-paced environment. Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
