About the role
The Sander I position at Klein Tools involves operating a belt sander to remove burs from forgings, adhering to quality standards, and reporting production and quality issues to supervision.
Responsibilities
- Operate a belt sander to remove burs from forgings
- Visually inspect products to ensure quality standards are met
- Inform supervision of any production or quality problems
- Maintain minimum standard rate to meet demand and create efficiencies
- Report daily count of production parts, scrap, and labor hours by completing required paperwork
- Replace sandpaper as needed
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area following 6S standards
- Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work
Requirements
- High School Diploma (GED)
- Familiarity with OSHA rules and regulations
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience using a belt sander a plus
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to recognize and report safety hazards
Qualifications
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements throughout the shift
- Bend and twist the neck and waist intermittently
- Push and pull assisted loads as needed
- Lift up to 45 pounds
- Work in a manufacturing environment that is hot, loud, dirty, and fast-paced

Pay
Pay Range: $16.50 – $32.00 per hour (all employees start at $16.50 with well-defined opportunities for income growth)
Schedule
Four-day work week (Monday-Thursday)
