Sand Blast Operator & General Laborer

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting equipment to remove coatings, rust, scale, and contaminants while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
• Prepare parts for welding, machining, painting, or assembly.
• Inspect parts before and after blasting for quality and defects.
• Maintain blasting equipment and perform routine cleaning and maintenance.
• Follow aerospace specifications, work instructions, and quality procedures.
• Safely operate forklifts, hoists, hand tools, and power tools as required.
• Keep work areas clean and organized following 6S and safety practices.
• Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist fabrication, assembly, and production teams as needed.
• Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED required.
• Experience operating sandblasting or abrasive blasting equipment.
• Ability to read work orders and follow detailed instructions.
• Knowledge of shop safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered.
• Preferred Qualifications: Ability to effectively handle tasks in a fast-paced environment; Able to work varied shifts, overtime, and weekends when necessary; Able to work with management team to help drive performance of location.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles.
• Exposure to vibration.
• Occasional exposure to caustic chemicals.
• Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
• Occasional weekend work required.

Physical Demands

• Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Frequent walking & standing for short periods of time.
• Lift and move up to 35 pounds, occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
