About the role
San Diego Housing Commission (SDHC) is seeking individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those experiencing housing instability and homelessness. Our team is dedicated to providing innovative solutions and support to our community members.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the administration of rental assistance programs
- Manage the rental assistance wait list portal
- Engage with current rental assistance participants to provide support and resources
- Support the development and implementation of affordable housing initiatives
- Collaborate with landlords and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective tenant protections
- Work with developers to secure funding and develop affordable housing projects
- Provide guidance and resources to first-time homebuyers and single-family homeowners
- Ensure compliance with federal and state housing regulations
- Contribute to the success of SDHC's Homelessness Solutions program
- Support the SDHC's efforts to increase access to affordable housing options
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, public policy, urban planning)
- At least 2 years of experience in housing-related fields
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with data management and analysis
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Homeless services and outreach
- Rental assistance programs
- Affordable housing development
- Tenant rights and protections

Pay
Salary range: $45,000 - $65,000 annually
Schedule
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
