San Diego Foreman - Landscape Construction

About the role

The role of Foreman at Pierre Landscape involves overseeing and managing a team of landscapers and construction workers. The position requires a valid California driver's license, membership in Local Union 89, and prior knowledge of landscape/construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work with, oversee, manage, train, and coordinate the daily work/tasks of employees
• Understand all aspects of landscape trade items (irrigation, grading, planting, drainage, etc.)
• Read and comprehend plans and specifications (dimensions, elevations, square footages, etc.)
• Determine and calculate required materials based upon site logistics (areas, depths, etc.)
• Skilled in all standard pieces of equipment (mini excavator, bobcat, backhoe, roto-tiller, etc.)
• Conduct weekly Safety Meetings (Tailgate Meetings) for all crew members
• Maintain records of safety meetings held
• Communicate best landscape industry trade skills to crew
• Ensure the active use of required safety gear, enforce OSHA regulations, and promote a hazard-free work environment
• Maintain daily logs of progress, attendance, and equipment maintenance

Requirements

• MUST be a part of local union 89
• CA driver’s license
• Clean driving/DMV record
• Prior knowledge of landscape/construction equipment preferred

Benefits

This role offers competitive compensation ranging from $44.00 to $46.00 per hour, depending on experience.
