Overview

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a part-time Operations Supervisor to work varying or set schedules on a weekly basis year round. The Supervisor will assist the management team, oversee team members, and provide outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Coach and model exceptional customer service on the sales floor
• Train and oversee team members in one or more departments
• Provide daily support, direction, and guidance to customers and team members
• Resolve customer issues and complaints, escalating problems to management when necessary
• Aid in the daily operation of the store, acting as the Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the manager or at offsite textbook warehouse
• Assign work and provide focused direction to team members to manage and execute multiple projects
• Process sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments as needed
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks such as dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, and trash removal

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred
• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Basic reading, writing, and accounting skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
