Sampling and Lab Technician

About the role

Envirogen Technologies is seeking a Sampling and Lab Technician to join our team in Memphis. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in a hands-on environment supporting water treatment testing and laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, label and process samples for testing and analysis
• Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures in line with established protocols
• Record, analyze and maintain accurate laboratory data and test results
• Operate, calibrate, clean and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
• Maintain laboratory inventory levels and support the ordering of supplies and materials
• Adhere to all laboratory safety procedures, regulations and quality standards
• Absolutely ensure the correct handling, storage and disposal of laboratory specimens and hazardous materials
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe laboratory environment
• Assist with troubleshooting laboratory equipment and testing issues
• Work collaboratively with laboratory colleagues and other departments to support daily operations
• Assist with the setup of pilot units and associated equipment for testing activities
• Carry out other duties as required to support the laboratory function

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Laboratory Science or a related discipline (advantageous)
• Previous laboratory experience (preferred but not essential)
• Basic understanding of laboratory techniques, equipment and safety procedures
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
• Comeplete with basic computer applications and data entry systems
• Competent in the use of basic computer applications and data entry systems
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds
• Good manual dexterity for operating laboratory equipment and handling small instruments
• Comfortable working in an environment where exposure to chemicals, biological materials and other laboratory hazards may occur, while following established safety procedures
