About the role

The Sample Splitter performs sample splitting on soil samples by following a program in LIMS (Lab Information Management System) that displays the types of splits and checks required. The role includes performing moisture checks on samples as required, weighing out sample mass using a balance and recording the information in LIMS, running instrumentation and transferring data into the LIMS system, and performing sample discard on various bottle types by following a LIMS program that indicates when a sample is ready for disposal. Additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample splitting on soil samples following LIMS program instructions for split types and checks
• Conduct moisture checks on samples using a moisture analyzer as required
• Weigh sample mass using a balance and record data in LIMS
• Run instrumentation and transfer data into the LIMS system
• Perform sample discard on various bottle types following LIMS disposal indicators
• Complete additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work independently
• Basic computer skills including data entry
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Professional working proficiency in English (read, write, speak)

Preferred qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience
• Previous experience with instrumentation
• Attention to detail
• Ability to use a balance and measure using milliliters

Pay

$17.75/hour + shift differential. Actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Two shift options:
  • Friday–Monday, four 10-hour shifts, 2nd shift hours
  • Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
• Training on 1st shift Monday–Friday for 3–4 weeks
