About the Role

Performs a variety of duties in support of departmental operations within Sample Entry, Prep, and the lab to ensure that samples are moved accurately and efficiently between departments.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and promote the company vision
  • Apply GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
  • Move samples on a regular basis to the assigned location between Sample Prep, Lab and Microbiology
  • Monitor sample location bins in various lab areas and sample prep
  • Proactively communicate any issues and concerns about sample movements to the supervisor or lab leaders
  • Ensure every barcode is scanned and the sample has the correct location assigned
  • Occasionally work in sample disposal area
  • Communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Experience with attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to walk/stand the majority of the day
  • Ability to identify and communicate customer service needs
  • Strong communicator
  • Ability to learn new tasks
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently

Additional Information

  • Overtime and weekend work as required
  • Exposure to potential food allergens (e.g., milk, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, etc.)
  • Physical requirements include walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting; may work in walk-in cold storage units
  • Expected to understand the process for handling hazardous wastes and receive on-the-job training for handling specific waste types
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. for short periods of time
  • Work may require use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
