Point Blank Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Sample Room Technician 2 to support production, sample room operations, and general assembly tasks while maintaining company safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Performs precise material cutting using industrial hand scissors and hand-operated cutting machines for markers, unique samples, and resizing repairs.
- Operates the Laser Cutter machine according to specifications.
- Prepares and prioritizes projects based on due dates, demonstrating flexibility to shift between tasks and work extra hours as needed.
- Reads and interprets trim sheets to ensure accurate cutting.
- Reads and understands model editors and patterns to select the correct material for each project.
- Reports any errors (fabric, trim, pattern, marker) to the project owner.
- Uses the hot knife machine to cut trims by their SCI code.
- Understands SCI codes and replenishes sample room inventory accordingly.
- Assists sewers by operating grommet machines, buttonhole machines, bar-tacking machines, and similar equipment.
- Assists with product assembly and packaging as needed.
- Assembles and moves packages to the shipping area as required.
- Monitors ongoing projects in the manager’s absence.
- Works in accordance with company safety and quality standards.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Laser cutter or hot knife experience is required.
- Technical or vocational training in manufacturing, textiles, industrial equipment, or related fields is preferred.
- Hands-on experience working with cutting tools, industrial machines, or production equipment is strongly preferred.
- Sample room or production experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to comprehend the company’s Build Sheet and Cut Request.
- Recognizes different materials by color, SCI code, denier, and other identifiers.
- Must speak, read, and write English at a business level to communicate effectively, accurately, and professionally in a corporate environment, including industry-specific vocabulary and formal correspondence.
- Must be able to read and follow safety instructions in English.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status as required by ITAR.
