Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming samples against accompanying documentation.
  • Log samples and relevant sample details into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Assign and apply proper identification labels on samples and paperwork to maintain traceability.
  • Communicate with clients or internal teams regarding sample discrepancies or missing information.
  • Prepare and distribute samples to the appropriate laboratory departments.
  • Communicate with the lab departments and management to properly prioritize samples.
  • Maintain sample storage conditions (e.g., refrigeration) according to requirements.
  • Ship samples for external analysis with completed sample analysis instructions.
  • Drive company vehicle to pick up and drop off samples, as required.
  • Prepare sampling kits and stock sample bottles.
  • Auxiliary tasks may include assisting with general laboratory housekeeping and inventory management.
  • Follow strict safety, quality control, and chain-of-custody procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: High School or equivalent Required. No experience required, unless required by state law.
  • Languages: Intermediate English Required (Advanced Preferred).
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic Required (Intermediate Preferred).
  • Reasoning Skills: Intermediate level required, uses logical and practical approach to solve problems.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate (in writing or verbally), presenting information individually or in small group situations to internal or external customers.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to follow directions ensuring the end results are accurate and completed with the required timeframe.
  • Documentation: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently and under moderate supervision.
  • Teamwork: Team player attitude, customer care focus.
  • Equipment: Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.
  • Overtime: Occasional overtime required.
  • Chemicals: Use of laboratory chemicals, including acids and bases.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $19.50 - $22.00 hourly. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
