Sample Prep Technician

About the role

Prepare samples for analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmental samples following approved microbiological techniques and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for Microbiological and Chemistry Analysis.
• Apply aseptic techniques.
• Maintain media and reagents.
• Clean and sanitize work area and glassware.
• Perform QC monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, and running media controls.
• Perform plating.

Skills

• Proficiency in laboratory techniques.
• Knowledge of biology and microbiology.
• Experience in lab support and sample preparation.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow specific directions and standard operating procedures.
• Aseptic technique.

Qualifications

• Degree in the Sciences preferred but not required.
• 12 months of laboratory experience (in-school experience is acceptable).

Work Environment

This role is situated within a microbiology testing laboratory in De Pere, WI. The environment requires adherence to aseptic techniques and cleanliness standards.

Schedule

Tuesday to Saturday, from 1 pm to 9:30 pm.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
